WALA: Cinquains.

This week in English the children have been learning all about writing Cinquains. It is a poem that uses syllables in a pattern of 2,4,6,8,2 and is written in the shape of a diamond. The children have worked together to write poems on whiteboards in pairs and then into their books independently. They have then performed their poem. Watch the videos below of their poetry readings.

WALA: Amelia Earhart

The children have been learning about Great Women in history. Today we have looked at Amelia Earhart. The children were excited to learn all about her life and mysterious disappearance. We used our sketching skills to sketch the other half of Amelia's face.

Today we have the pleasure of attending a zoom meeting with Dermot O'Leary to talk about his new book 'Toto and the Ninja Cat and the Legend of the Wildcat'. The children listened as Dermot talked about his new book and then got the chance to follow along with the illustrator and draw Toto! Have a look at some of their amazing drawings below.
