Developing rapid recall of multiplication facts is a key skill that will benefit students as they progress through White Court and into the future.
Times tables are taught in Magic Maths lessons and assessed in school weekly.
The National Curriculum prescribes that the following tables are taught each year:
Year Two – 2s, 5s, 10s
Year Three – 3s, 4s, 8s
Year Four – 6s, 7s, 9s, 11s, 12s
In Year One, children will count in sequences and in Years Five and Six children will revisit all times tables and apply them to written methods including long multiplication and apply them to reasoning problems.
