Week 6- The children loved Sports Day on Monday. Well done for all participating! A fantastic effort from all children.
Week 5: The children have enjoyed reading in the shade with their friends. Some children wanted to read a page of their books to their friends which they really loved. In PE the children really enjoyed team building games and they practised some card games where they had to work together to solve the mysteries. In English we have been looking at fairytales and the children have been weiting which is their favourite and why.
Week 4:The children really enjoyed learning more jumping skills in PE this week. In Phonics the children have been learning the suffix 'er'. In PSHE the children have loved celebrating difference through our Rainbow Day. I loved seeing the amazing cakes some of the children had created. In DT this week, the children have created their own pirate slider mechanisms. Some excellent creations.
Week 3: This week the children have been practising writing the days of the week! They have enjoyed creating their own sentences about each day. In PE this week the children really enjoyed athletics and using their bodies to change directions. The children have really enjoyed reading their pirate fact files to Year 3. On Friday afternoon, we went to forest school which the children enjoyed in the sunshine.
Week 2: This week in Maths the children have been learning to describe the position of shapes using the vocabulary above and above. The children used cubes to model and explain to their partner the position of the different coloured cubes.
Week 1: In Maths this week, the children have been learning how to describe and complete different turns. For example quarter, half, three quarter and a whole turn. The children enjoyed working in pairs to practise their turns. In PE this week we have been focusing on fitness through athletics and the children loved competing against their friends. In Design and Technology the children created their own pop up pirates using the slider mechanism. On Friday, we braved the rain and enjoyed Forest School.
