Beauty and the Beast Pantomine
On Friday Year 3 were treated to a performance of Beauty and the Beast by the Young Shakespeare Company. The children absolutely loved the show, with the brilliant music, dancing and acting. They loved singing along and getting involved with the performance.
This week we celebrated Odd Sock Day, the theme was to 'Choose Respect'. We discussed how to sort out differences or problems with our peers without hurting each others feelings. As a class, we spoke about the importance of accepting that people have different ideas or opinions and we need to make sure that we are considerate of these. We made sock puppets and created a puppet show exploring emotions and feelings.
In English we are working on our Guided Voyage and Return Story. We read The Polar Express and discussed the plot of the book. We worked in small groups to create a short piece of drama which conveyed the dialogue and meaning of the story.
