We got up to lots of different things during Week 5, the children took part in some yoga in PE, they tested how a variety of changes affect the brightness of a bulb in Science and they created their candle holders out of clay!
During Week 4, Year 6 had a parent event. The children performed on thier recorders, demonstrated their 'Stomp' inspired dances and their class disco dances, they then tested out their Anderson Shelters by protecting eggs from falling 'bombs.'

During Week 3, we built our Anderson Shelters in groups. We used craft knives, hot glue guns and spray paints to improve our skills. We then decorated our shelters using a range of materials. We hope you like our final shelters :)
Week 2 was our WW2 Day and the children had so much fun becoming evacuees for the day. They spent the morning in a 1940s style classroom where some of them even got the 'cane', they then spent the afternoon in a 1940's village spending old coins and using their ration cards.
In week 1, the children learned Flanders Fields poem off by heart using actions. We discussed the poet 'John Mcrae' and the significance of the poppy for remembrance. The children then wrote their own heart felt remembrance poems.
