History - Ancient Egyptian Day
This week Year 3 had a visit from 'History off the Page' who delivered a fantastic Ancient Egyptian Day. In the morning, the hall was set out as an Egyptian town and the children moved round different stations and created different items. Some of the activities were; mummification, canopic jars, carving, tomb painting, ink making and writing, amulet making, bread making, perfume cone making and shabti dolls. In the afternoon, the children had a banquet with entertainment such as dancing and acting, with food and wine.
Art
In Art the children practiced creating a side profile portrait using Egyptian headdress designs. They looked carefully at different designs for Kings and Gods and then created their own ready for next weeks piece of artwork.
