Autumn 1 Week 8
In English, Wolf class have been writing poetry. The children have written a poem about 'feelings' based on the structure of a poem that they have studied. They focused on creating images in the reader's mind by making deliberate vocabulary choices. Take a read of some of our poems!

In RE, the children have been considering how they can look after the environment. They designed a poster to show people how they can look after the planet.

In History, the children have been learning to place events on a timeline. They looked at key events in history and placed these into chronological order. They then used base ten to work out how many years there were between each event.
In science this week we looked at how waterproof different materials were & tested them out. We then designed a waterproof coat based on our findings.

This week in English, the children have been retelling a story through drama. They watched Mr Benn 'A Pirate Adventure' and thought carefully about the key events. As a group, they then created a performance using expression.
Autumn 1 Week 3
For science this week we looked at the stretchiness of materials. In our table teams we tested the elasticity of rubber, cotton, wool, nylon and a plastic bag. We were so engaged with our experiment Mrs Kitley forgot to take pictures but we all had a fantastic time and learnt lots about when we would need materials to stretch to be fit for purpose.
Autumn Term 2 Week 2
This week we have been enjoying our Little Wandle reading practices. These practices have taken place three times this week. The children have been taught to decode, read with prosody and comprehension. We also visited the library to choose our 'reading for pleasure book'. The children are looking forward to sharing these books with you at home.
Autumn Term 1 Week 1
Today in Computing, we explored self identity and ways we can represent this. We designed our own avatars. We then enjoyed guessing whose avatar belongs to whom in the class and saying why!
