Forest School – The Snail & the Whale focus
Today at forest school, the sun was shining and the children had a fantastic time! Our focus this week was on the Julia Donaldson book, “The Snail & the Whale”. The children listened to the story around the log circle, they could explore the forest looking for snails, some used paints and chalks to create snail trails and others made snail shells out of twigs, stones, leaves, and acorns.
PSHE – Cared for, Safe, Calm and Happy
This week in PSHE we talked about the places and people that make us feel cared for, safe, calm and happy. We talked about how these feelings are created by the environment and the people who take care of us. The children discussed places like their bedrooms and houses with their families and some children spoke about school, teachers and doctors! The children then explored activities to show how we care for each other. They made friendship bracelets and paper dolls to share with each other. They played doctors and looked after babies. They created playdough people they loved and drew pictures where they felt safe and loved!
