Summer 1
Week 5 - This week in PE we have continued developing our striking and fielding skills and loved playing a mini game of rounders! In Art we enjoyed painting our favourite minibeast using watercolours and were very proud to display them in our classroom as a collage.
Week 4 - In Geography we used an aerial map of the school and it's grounds to go for a walk and then recorded which way we went on the map. In English we used our imagination to write a voyage and return story and we then read it to a friend.
Week 3 - This week has been all about drama! In English we worked in small groups to act out the scenes from 'Where the wild things are' which we will use when we write our own voyage and return stories. We've also been learning some new vocabulary and acting out the emotions to our class friends and they had to guess which emotion we were acting! In PE we've been practicing out batting and fielding skills in teams throwing and catching the ball. In music we had so much fun using the boomwhackers to make tunes in time with the music.... video to follow!
Week 2 - In Maths we have been learning about arrays and the children worked in pairs to put counters into arrays and write the number sentence. In RE we are learning in Hinduism it is believed that to have the best experience of worshipping God it is good to use as many senses as possible. We explored our senses with a bar of chocolate! Kelsey could only listen to the rustle and snap of the chocolate bar, Arthur could only smell the chocolate, Marshall could only look at it, Pippa could only hold it and Thomas could just taste it. Lola got to use all her senses when she ate a cube of chocolate and we decided, similarly to Hindu beliefs, she had the best experience using all her senses.
Week 1 - This week has been all about sunflowers 🌻 In English we have been learning about instructions. We had to listen very carefully and follow instructions on how to paint a sunflower. In Science we are learning about plants. Today we planted our very own sunflower seed and we will ensure it has sunshine and water and watch it grow (hopefully!)
