In Week 6, the children conducted their own scientific investigation on how exercise affects heart rate. They decided what the aim of their investigation would be, the method and the equipment. They then all created a graph of their results and wrote a conclusion on what they found out.
In week 5, we looked at the painting 'Fishermen at Sea' by J.M.W Turner and composed a piece of music to accompany the painting. We had to think about tempo, dynamics and texture.
We also created our shadow puppets: each group had to design and make a main character, a villain and scenery. We then had to perform a story to the piece 'In the Hall of the Mountain King'

In week 4, we finished our Gymnastics unit by working in groups to perform a sequence that contained a set criteria e.g. 3 different types of rolls. Here is one of the three balances our groups performed.
In Week 3, the children excavated fossils that their peers had made the week before. They had to look at what imprints had been left behind and discuss what they could learn about the creature that had left them there. We also looked at longitude and latitude in Geography, the children used globes this week to find countries at certain positions using what they had learned.
Week 2 - BOOK WEEK! Here are our amazing costumes from World Book Day, we loved dressing up as our favourite characters and completing lots of activities on the amazing world of BOOKS!!
During book week, we learned all about Anthony Horowitz (one of our house authors) and looked in particular at his Alex Rider novels. We created our own spy gadgets and even became spies in the afternoon: sending each other secret messages using mirrors, morse code and invisible ink!
In Week 1, we read our horror stories 'Alma' to Year 5. We wanted to make it as scary as possible to build tension so we read them by torchlight. We loved sharing our writing with some other children!
