14/10/25: we have been reading The Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll in Guided Reading. In Art, we made concertina booklets and represented the poem in our own ways using charcoal, pastels, chalk, pencil and water colours. here is some of our work.
Today we enjoyed some of the extra OPAL play time that Mrs Burrell awarded us for completing our Bingo sheet.
I'm pleased to say we have completed our OPAL BINGO sheet! Thank you for all of your generous donations - the children have now earned an additional break time to play with the new equipment.
OPAL: juts chalk and kitchen utensils now.

OPAL BINGO: we're flying through this! If Eagles are the first class to complete the bingo sheet, we will get an extra 15 minute playtime using the equipment. All that's left now are measuring spoons, kitchen utensils, funnels, colanders, small rakes and chalk.

22/9/25: in Art today we looked at the artists Quentin Blake and Cressida Cowell and how they tell stories through pictures. We took inspiration from their styles to create different scenes using a different medium each time. The scenes we could select from included a stormy sea, calm sea, wind and rain, thunder and lightning, a bleak forest and a fire. The children used a selection of pastels, chalks, charcoal, pencils, pens and water colours.
19/9/25: last Friday we used our knowledge of states of matter to estimate the melting points of different foods. Coconut oil had the lowest melting point and cheddar cheese had the highest melting point.
World First Aid Day - we looked at different scenarios including asthma attacks, broken bones, bumped heads, bleeding and choking.
