Week 4: the children began their tag rugby unit in P.E.
Chimps also learned all about reflection and how mirrors work. They were then tasked with using mirrors to reflect light around a maze.
We used a game about emotions to learn how to add and subtract negative numbers in Maths
Also, during this week we walked to the church for our annual Harvest Festival. Year 6 were very responsible and walked with Year 1 and Year 2 to keep them safe.
Week 3: Some of our children went on Bikeability to learn how to safely ride on the streets and roads.
Whilst they were on Bikeability, the rest of the class completed Maths investigations. One of them was to create a 3X3 cube from 9 different colours making sure that each colour only appeared once on each face. They also took part in some Lego STEM challenges including: building structures, marble runs, bridges and boats.
Week 2: the children learned the basic of first aid during an assembly this week. Back in class, the children learned how to put someone in the recovery position and what to do if the casualty is not breathing (CPR)
The children also learned all about Yayoi Kusama a Japanese artist known for her butterfly-themed dot art. We created our own versions of her art using our class animal: the chimp.
