Discovery Centre Trip.
We had a lovely time at the Discovery Centre looking for Physical and Human features. We plotted them on our maps. We also did A LOT of walking and built up a great appetite for lunch!

In Science, we have been learning about the human skeleton. In pairs, we made posters about all the facts that we have learnt.

On Tuesday we explored the layers of the rainforest. We also worked in groups to decide what we would pack if we were going on an expedition to the Amazon Rainforest.

On Wednesday, we had a visit from 2 dental nurses to teach us about our dental hygiene. We learnt how to brush our teeth correctly and which snacks are good for our teeth.

In Music, we have been learning the parts of a recorder and how to play the note B. We then used the note B to play the tune 'Heavenly B.'

For our Take One Piece, we looked at the artist and sculptor Dale Chihuly. We created our own vibrant sculptures using plastic cups and permanent pens which we will heat and shape into flowers!

Today in DT we investigated structures using cocktail sticks and marshmallows. We then evaluated whether the triangular structure or the square structure was different. Can you guess the result?

In English, we learnt a technique called ' Readers' Theatre' to help us perform part of a warning story.

On Monday 15th December, we read our Christmas voyage and return stories to the Year 2 children.

Thursday 6th November - Stone Age Day!
We had an amazing day learning about life in the Stone Age. We looked at different tools and weapons, made a campfire and cooked some fish. Some of us even had a taste!
