This week in PE you are going to be looking at the techniques for sprint starts. Sprinting involves running at top speed over a short distance. It's about covering the distance in the fastest possible time. In athletics, it related to the 100m, 200m, 400m, hurdles and sprint relays. Other athletic events such as long jump, high jump, triple jump and pole vault also require sprinting.

Start off by going through the PowerPoint, watch the video below and then try out the different starting positions. If you can you might want to challenge a family member to a short race to help you practice your sprint start.
