Wow! What a hot week it has been. I hope you have been enjoying the beautiful sunshine in your gardens. I think some of you may have even got your swimming costumes on and have been in the paddling pool! I am very jealous, I wish I was. I have been keeping cool by eating lots of ice cream and staying in the shade (I burn very easily so have to be extra careful in the hot weather, even though I wear lots and lots of sun cream).
Can you believe we only have 3 weeks left until the summer holidays! Time has just flown by. Have you heard what your class name is going to be next year? You will be called Seahorse class, how exciting is that! Did you know it is the male seahorses that give birth to the babies? They can give birth to up to hundreds at a time. My class next year will be called Turtle class and I will be teaching the Year 2 children. I a very excited but also a bit sad to be leaving Foundation.
Next week we will be starting something called transitions. This is where we say goodbye to our current teachers and say hello to our new ones. We will be having a goodbye zoom video call next Friday at 10:00am. Make sure you join in, we will all be able to see each other after such a long time apart! We will be reading stories, playing games and talking about our favourite things we did this year. I can't wait to see you all. It will be like an end of year party. We have set you some transition activities on the school website for your home learning next week. They include fun things like show and tell, making a class photo and taking part in a virtual sports day. I hope you enjoy all of the things we have panned for you.
Don't forget I am no longer calling you unless I haven't heard from you either in school, on Twitter, Purple Mash or the school home learning email. So please keep sending me all your lovely work. I have really enjoyed speaking to some of you on Purple Mash this week.
I have had another busy week this week. I was in school with some of you on Monday and Tuesday. Then the rest of the week I have been planning your transition activities, as well as having lots of zoom meetings with the teachers. Finally, I have been doing some online training, learning how to teach PE with social distancing and how to use new online tools in the classroom.
I hope you have a lovely weekend, it is going to be slightly cooler I hope!
Missing you all lots and looking forward to seeing some more of your faces on zoom next week!
Love Miss Hughes xxx
