Return to School

Here is a recap of the procedures in place when the children return to school on Monday 8th March to give everyone time to prepare for what is probably an extremely exciting yet anxious time. Please remember that although schools are opening, we are still in a national lockdown and the government legislation remains in place. It is only by working together and following the rules that we will continue to keep each other safe.

  1. Drop off times:
    1. Nursery – 8:45 to 9:00
    2. FS, Y1 & Y2 – 8:50 to 9:00 (If children have older siblings they can attend between 8:40 and 8:50)
    3. Y3, Y4, Y5, Y6 – 8:40-8:50

Please do support us in keeping to these times to minimise congestion at the school gate, DO NOT gather before the gates open .

  1. Pick up times (1 adult only please)
    1. Nursery – 3:00 to 3:15
    2. FS – 3:15
    3. Y1, Y2 & Y3 – 3:00 to 3:10
    4. Y4, Y5, Y6 – 3:15 to 3:25

THE PLAY EQUIPMENT MUST NOT BE USED AT ANY TIMES – When children use this equipment during school hours a full clean is carried out after each use.

A reminder that the main office gate is for year 3 and 4 only – see map

  1. PE days – children are to come to school in PE kit on the following days
    1. FS – Tigers – Monday, Elephants – Friday, Ducks – Friday.
    2. Year 1 – Monday and Thursday
    3. Year 2 – Tuesday and Friday
    4. Year 3 – Monday and Friday
    5. Year 4 – Tuesday and Wednesday
    6. Year 5 – Wednesday and Thursday
    7. Year 6 – Tuesday and Thursday

Please ensure children bring only ESSENTIAL items into school – scooters and bikes are still encouraged.

  1. ALL adults MUST wear a face mask on school premises, unless exempt, and maintain a distance of 2m from each other AT ALL TIMES. Only 1 adult per child to collect the children to further minimise adults on site. Children DO NOT need to wear masks.
  2. ALL suspected COVID cases and COVID symptoms MUST be reported to the school ASAP to enable us to minimise the spread immediately. We urge all families to take part in the community testing to further support detection of the virus. Please see attached letters for further information.
  3. Any positive COVID cases WILL lead to the closure of year group bubbles for an isolation period of 10 days so please do remain vigilant to symptoms and adhere to the government legislation – NO mixing of households, maintaining a 2m distance from those not in your household, stay at home unless it is essential.

We are very aware that the children will have a range of and mixed emotions about returning to school and some may even be reluctant to attend, however I want to assure you that the staff have prepared activities to support the children with a smooth transition back into school and will be focussed on their mental health and wellbeing. The government has directed all parents to send their children to school deeming attendance as ‘Mandatory’, we know many parents will be nervous but please do speak to us if you have any concerns.
