The Great Fire of London!
On Tuesday the whole of Year 2 had a day learning all about The Great Fire of London. We started off in the morning learning all about the fire and where it started and then moved on to creating a timeline of events. Then we built some houses out of paper and took them outside onto the playground. We put them in trays of sand really close together to show how the houses would have looked in 1866 London and set fire to them to see how quickly they caught fire and burned down. In the afternoon we painted some fiery pictures and used black card to represent the houses. Finally we listened to a story of the fire and completed a quiz to test our knowledge. It was a really exciting day!
