What beautiful day! Today is VE Day. I spoke to you a little bit about VE Day in my last diary entry. Did any of you manage to do anything to mark the occasion? Lots of the people down my road all stood outside the front of their houses at 11am to hold a 2 minute silence and pay their respects to all of the soldiers who fought in the war, which was lovely to see. It is also my Mum and my nephew's birthday today, so I got up early and made a cake (which I then left on my parent's doorstep, as a birthday surprise for my Mum). When I spoke to my Mum on the phone to wish her a happy birthday, she told me that she was planning on having afternoon tea in the garden with my Dad, and then they were ordering a Chinese takeaway for dinner!
I also rang my sister to wish my nephew, Santino a happy 1st birthday. She said that him and his sister had been having fun in the garden, and then sent me a video later on, of them both playing on the 'splash mat' that I'd sent him for his birthday. It's been perfect weather for it!

After all of my happy birthday wishes, I managed to get a few jobs done in my garden. I mowed the lawn (which was very overgrown!!) and then re-planted some of the pots outside the front of my house, as well as managing to enjoy some sunshine inbetween.
I hope that you all have a fantastic Bank Holiday weekend and can't wait to hear about what you've all been doing!
